Established in 1939, the Fairfield County Dog Adoption Center & Shelter has been dedicated to providing care and shelter for dogs in need.
Over the years, the shelter has undergone significant transformations, including a relocation to its current facility in 2000 and leadership changes that have brought about positive improvements. Under the guidance of dedicated wardens and staff, the shelter has expanded its capacity, implemented humane euthanasia practices, and prioritized community outreach and staff training. Today, the shelter continues to uphold its mission of protecting, sheltering, and serving the community by providing a safe haven for dogs and fostering meaningful partnerships to ensure their well-being.
