NOTICE OF FAIRFIELD COUNTY, OH, PUBLIC HEARING

For Adoption of a Storm Water Design Manual

The Fairfield County Commissioners will hold a public hearing regarding the adoption of a Storm Water Design Manual, Tuesday, June 27, 2023, 10:15 am, Administrative Courthouse, 210 E. Main Street, 3rd Floor, Lancaster, Ohio. The purpose of the Fairfield County, Ohio, Stormwater Design Manual is to establish rules, guidelines, and standards, to govern design, construction, operation, maintenance, and use, of stormwater management infrastructure in the unincorporated areas of Fairfield County.


Authority to establish standards for design and construction within a jurisdiction are granted by Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 711.101.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETINGS FOR ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN

As Fairfield County prepares for future growth, the Knowlton School of Architecture within the College of Engineering at The Ohio State University, has partnered with Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) and Fairfield County to update and revise the Fairfield County Active Transportation Plan.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND UPDATE TO THE 2018 COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLAN

As Fairfield County prepares for future growth, the Fairfield County Planning Steering Committee in conjunction with planning NEXT, a Columbus based consultant group, will be holding a public meeting on March 13th from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Fairfield County Workforce Center located at 4465 Coonpath Road NW, Carroll, Ohio 43112. The plan focuses on smart growth to ensure the county maintains a balance between its agricultural base and expansion of residential and commercial land.

A WINNER OF THE COLUMBUS TOP WORKPLACES 2023 AWARD

Fairfield County has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2023 honor by Columbus C.E.O. Magazine Top Workplaces. Fairfield County ranks 12th among employers with 350 or more employees in central Ohio. The ranking is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC. The confidential survey uniquely measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization: alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY WORKFORCE CENTER RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD

Fairfield County has received a 2023 Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACO) in the category of Children and Youth for its Summer Career Exploration Camps. The camps are offered free of charge at the Fairfield County Workforce Center to middle school students to introduce youth to careers in engineering, healthcare, and construction.

PUBLIC NOTICE FOR REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW SERVICES

The Fairfield County Board of Commissioners is requesting Statements of Qualifications and Proposals from qualified consulting firms, organizations, or individuals for the purpose of providing environmental review services for the County’s CDBG Program.

 

PUBLIC NOTICE: VIEWING AND HEARINGS TO DETERMINE THE NEED TO ESTABLISH OR ALTER PUBLIC ROADS, MULTI-USE PATHS, AND CULVERTS

The Fairfield County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to determine the necessity for establishing or altering identified public roads, paths, and culverts. The viewings and hearings will be on November 28, 2023.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS APPROVES 2023 BUDGET

Today, the Board of Fairfield County Commissioners approved the county expenditure budget for 2023. The 2023 general fund budget, which covers expenditures for daily operations of county services, was approved at $59.65 M, an approximate 2.9% decrease from the current budget, which included several one-time capital projects, such as the Workforce Center and other capital improvements.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO DISPOSE OF SURPLUS PERSONAL PROPERTY BY INTERNET AUCTION

The Fairfield County Board of Commissioners approved per resolution 2022-12.06.d, the use of internet auction to dispose of unneeded, obsolete or unfit personal property, including motor vehicles.  O.R.C. 307.12 allows for items to be sold through internet auction.
