Hearing Procedures: Marking of Exhibits
Upon receipt of the complaint, countercomplaint and/or any other exhibits received, and prior to the hearing, the Auditor’s staff will place exhibit stickers on each. In Fairfield County, the complaint and any attachments to the complaint, will be marked collectively as Exhibit 1. Any subsequent exhibits received by the BOR from the complainant are typically marked sequentially as Exhibits 1a, 1b, 1c, etc. If a countercomplaint is filed, the countercomplaint and any attachments will be marked collectively as Exhibit 2 and any subsequent exhibits received from the countercomplainant are marked sequentially as Exhibits 2a, 2b, 2c, etc. If applicable, any exhibits to be utilized on behalf of the BOR will be marked as Exhibit 3, and any additional exhibits on behalf of the BOR will be marked as Exhibits 3a, 3b, 3c, etc. When the case is introduced on the hearing day, the BOR Administrator will verbally note all exhibits received so that they are reflected within the hearing record.
